Helping hardware founders build better companies.

20131122-P1050942-110

This is going to be our biggest year yet!

We started Hardware Workshop to help founders build better companies. The response over the last two years has been nothing short of amazing.

Each workshop is a 2-day event (10am-5pm) with 12 one hour sessions and includes breakfast/lunch/happy hour on both days. Our goal is to make this the highest quality workshop in the world for hardware startups. Founded by and created for hardware startups.

But what we’re most excited about this year is for the first time we are going to offer two program levels.

Level 1 – $75

Help hardware startups from idea to shipping a product. We will dive deep into important topics that help a hardware startup get off the ground. Very similar to the sessions we have been teaching so far, this program is perfect for anyone (B2B or B2C) that wants to bring a successful product to market. We cover:

  • Hardware development process.
  • Defining your product (customer need -> final product).
  • Creating your brand.
  • Prototyping.
  • Picking a supplier.
  • Crowdfunding.
  • Hardware by the numbers.
  • Building a team.
  • Funding a hardware startup.
  • Building press relationships.
  • IP and patents.
  • Building initial distribution.

Level 2 – $99

Help hardware startups to go from shipping version 1 to building a scalable businesses. We assume you have a product or are close to shipping your first version and are looking to learn more about winning the market, building a team, and successfully fundraising. We cover:

  • How to build and ship a new product on time.
  • Creating your supply chain quality process.
  • Logistics, logistics, logistics.
  • Building brand awareness and reaching customers.
  • Building distribution the right way.
  • Transitioning form a founder to a CEO.
  • Building a team.
  • How not to run out of money.
  • Funding a hardware startup from Seed to Series B.
  • Successfully launching new products.

We plan to cap each event at 100 participants in order to maximize the teaching environment. We expect each workshop to have 12 insanely qualified operators, who will each run a 60 minute session. The plan for the year is the following:

Level 1
Feb 26-27 @ Boston
Mar 26-27 @ Seattle
• Sep @ San Francisco
• Oct @ New York

Level 2
Apr @ San Francisco
• Oct @ Boston

We will announce each workshop as we get them organized. Enter your email on the left hand side of the page.
